Jonathan Soriano's hint to FC Barcelona as striker search continues

While Barça continue to search for their fourth forward, an ex-Blaugrana has provided a gentle reminder of his suitability to the club.

We are talking of Jonathan Soriano, the FC Red Bull Salzburg striker, who has recalled his time at the Catalan club by posting an image on social media in which he appears alongside the current Barcelona captain, Andres Iniesta.

The accompanying message read:

"Great memories!! An honour to be able to have played with this great player @andresiniesta8"

Given the difficulties that technical secretary Robert Fernandez is encountering to complete the signing of another forward, this nudge from the Austrian side's frontman has interesting timing.

The 30-year-old Jonathan Soriano, who played with Barça B between 2009 and 2011, with three first team appearances, is the Salzburg club's star.

The team is coached by former Barça player, and youth team manager, Oscar Garcia, and Soriano has won all the national trophies with them, as well as winning the top scorer in the Austrian Bundesliga and Cup on three separate occasions.

With a current market value of around 7.5 million euros, Soriano left Barça in 2012 for 500,000 euros.
