Johan Cruyff's 10 rules for both football and life

Johan Cruyff marked out 10 rules in his book "I like football". They are almost a philosophy of life. Let's go through them again...

1) The public and the players should enjoy football. Football is spectacle, if not, it's not football.

2) Technique and perfecting it should be the player's main worry.

3) We should always be ready to learn new things from others.

4) Excitement is basic in general, but especially in football.

5) Respect for team-mates, the public, the referee, etc, is basic in sport and in life.

6) We should be good team-mates and accept that others will make errors and we have to help them the way, they too will do when we commit ours.

7) In football and in life it's essential to know how to work as a team, to understand that a player alone cannot win a game.

8) To deliver 100% is absolutely necessary in football.

9) The footballer has a big social responsibility. He's a model for many people and represents his colours and his fans.

10) Football is a good school for personal development and helps mature a person.
