Johan Cruyff's all-time XI is revealed in his autobiography

There's no room for Messi, or any active players, but Guardiola is in the side

A book on Johan Cruyff's life "14 The Autobiography" went on sale on Wednesday.

The Dutchman's impact on football is indisputable and in the book he he documents his thoughts and philosophies on football, politics and life.

One part of the autobiography which has generated a lot of interest is Cruyff's Best XI of all time.

It's surprising, for example, that not one active player has been named -- not even Lionel Messi.

For humility, he hasn't put himself in there, either, but there was a spot for his pupil, Pep Guardiola.

The team is: Lev Yashin, Carlos Alberto, Beckenbauer, Pep Guardiola, Ruud Krol, Alfredo di Stefano, Bobby Charlton, Garrincha, Maradona, Pele, Piet Keizer.
