Jeremy Mathieu recovers from injury and rejoins Barcelona training

Jeremy Mathieu was the main inclusion at Barcelona training on Tuesday with the defender returning to action after two weeks out due to a thigh problem.

The 32-year-old was injured during the Spanish Super Cup first leg with Sevilla on August 14 due to a tear in his femoral biceps on his right leg and was expected to return within three weeks.

Mathieu, therefore, will now be available for selection in Barça's next game against Alaves in La Liga on September 10 at the Camp Nou.

Luis Enrique led training at Camp Tito Vilanova with all the players who are not on international duty during the week ahead.

First-team players included Arda Turan, Aleix Vidal, Jordi Masip, Rafinha, Andres Iniesta and Mathieu, while youth team players, Jose Suarez, Marlon Santos, Juan Camara Marc Cardon and Wilfrid Kaptoum also joined the session.

The available players will return to training at 09:30 on Wednesday at the Ciutat Esportiva behind closed doors.
