Javier Mascherano will stay at Barça and renew his contract

Javier Mascherano will stay at Barça, at the very least, for this season.

The player, through sources close to him, has confirmed that he has rejected offers in order to stay at the club, and that he will be discussing his contract renewal in the coming days.

The Argentine has therefore taken a step back and has ruled out joining Juventus, despite the Italian club making one last attempt in recent days to convince the player.

Mascherano believes that Barça have now shown that they value him, and it is very probable that he renews his deal at the start of August, precisely when he returns to training at the Catalan club.

News had been arriving from Italy stating that Juve were prepared to go all-out for the Argentine international.

The Turin side will have money after the sale of Paul Pogba, and they hoped to reopen negotiations, but the Barça defender has stopped them in their tracks.

The player was very irritated with Barcelona at the end of last season, tired of listening to false promises of renewals.
