Javier Mascherano or Samuel Umtiti? Vote for who should start
Gerard Pique and Javier Mascheano have been the key duo for Barcelona at the back in the previous few years. Even though the Jefecito is more comfortable as a defensive midfielder, he has been utilised at centre-back.
Having missed the first week injured, he's back in the squad for the trip to Bilbao to face Athletic Club. In the past, nobody would debate it, Mascherano would be back in the team for the game.
However, Samuel Umtiti's good start to life at Barcelona and performance against Real Betis begs the question, should he start again this evening?
The Frenchman has a more complete profile than Mascherano, in that he will be useful at clearing the ball in the air against a team that likes to attack in that way.
