FC Barcelona defender Javier Mascherano is one of the many football faces who have shown their sadness over the death of Luis Maria Bonini, who was the physical trainer working with Argentine coach Marcelo Bielsa at various clubs - Atlas de Guadalajara, América, Vélez Sarsfield, Espanyol, Athletic de Bilbao, the Argentine and Chilean national teams.
"A shit day for anyone who had the luck of knowing you. Rest in peace, Professor. Thanks for everything," wrote Mascherano under a photo of Bonini, who died at 67 years old in Santiago, Chile, from stomach cancer.
