Jasper Cillessen travels to Barcelona to complete transfer from Ajax

Jasper Cillessen arrives on Thursday in Barcelona to finalise his move from Ajax after five years with the club.

As reported by the Telegraaf, the Dutch international will travel directly to the Catalan capital from Russia, where he played his last game for Ajax in their 4-1 (5-2 aggregate) loss to Rostov.

Cillessen, who admitted after the game that he had worn the red and white shirt for the last time, will undertake a medical before signing his Barça contract.

The idea is for the 27-year-old to be incorporated into the squad as soon as possible and it's likely that Marc-Andre ter Stegen's injury will cause a quickening of that process.

Barça paid 14 million euros for their new goalkeeper who will sign a five-year contract running until the 2020/21 season.

Cillessen joins the Blaugrana to rival Ter Stegen for the no.1 spot in Luis Enrique's team after the departure of Claudio Bravo to Manchester City.
