Jasper Cillessen explains how he sees competition with Marc-Andre ter Stegen

Jasper Cillessen must fight with Marc-Andre ter Stegen for the no.1 spot at Barcelona after completing his move from Ajax.

The Dutch international showed good spirits in his first press conference as a Blaugrana player and claimed he was looking forward to getting to work with his German team-mate.

"It was a short training session because we had the presentation [at the Camp Nou], but we talked together," Cillessen said. "I speak a little German and we can both speak English, so I think we understand each other.

"Marc has great skills as a goalkeeper. I come with the intention to make the choice [between us] difficult for [Luis Enrique].

"[Enrique] gave me a very warm welcome from the whole team and it's been a great experience off the pitch to meet my new team-mates."

Cillessen joins on a five-year contract after winning three Eredivisie titles with Ajax. The 27-year-old kept 21 clean sheets last season and has made 30 appearances for the Netherlands.

"I know I'm very fortunate and honoured to come here and play for this team," he concluded.
