Ivan Rakitic slipping into life at Barcelona comfortably
Ivan Rakitic believes Barcelona have an upward momentum after making several good signings this summer and says the future is bright.
"The squad is brilliant, aweseome," said the Croatian centre-midfielder.
"Messi I have always seen at his best, there is no need to talk about him. He is the best in the world and the history of football, I'll give everything to help him on the pitch."
Rakitic also hailed Xavi, who some say he is here to replace.
"We all know that Xavi is an idol, in the locker room too, I'm enjoying training with him and every day learning. It's true that we all want to play, but the coach has to make the decision."
Rakitic says he enjoys playing wit hthr best players in the world on a day to day basis, but doesn't like comparisons to them.
"I cannot dribble the ball like Messi or play the ball like Iniesta, but I have football to contribute, I have a good shot from distance with a defensive side too.
"Luis Enrique knows my style and asked me to shoot form outside the box. Each coach has his own ideas but my adaptation to Barcelona was quick because Unai (Emery) was similar at Seville."
Rakitic thinks young forward Gerard Deulofeu will thrive on loan at his former side.
"He's a player looking for one-on-ones and will score goals. Unai Emery will have much joy with him and Deulofeu will be very comfortable in Seville."
