Ivan Rakitic reveals one of Leo Messi's best kept secrets

Croatian international Ivan Rakitic joined Barcelona three years ago and has always chosen to live close to the sea. The midfielder lives in Gava Mar. He’s Javier Mascherano’s neighbour and he’s not far from Leo Messi and Luis Suarez. 

Rakitic has said in an interview with Croatian publication Novi List that he’s delighted with his neighbours. However, he revealed that Messi didn’t have as much luck when he first moved to Castelldefels, where he still lives now. Until now, it was known that he lives close to Suarez, however little is known of his previous neighbours. 

According to Rakitic, Messi was the victim of noise pollution from his old neighbours. “When he bought his house in Castelldefels his neighbours were a little noisy, so Leo had to buy their house so that he could be alone [with his family]. Luckily I have never had those problems.”
