Ivan Rakitic happy with first Barça goal and not worried about Atletico, Real

Ivan Rakitic was delighted to score his first Barcelona goal during Sunday night's 5-0 win over Levante.

The Croatian midfielder scored 12 times in the league for Sevilla last season, so Luis Enrique may be expecting the 20-yard strike to be the first of many more.

“Thank God the goal went in!," Rakitic exclaimed after the game.

"People had begun to have a joke [about not scoring] in the dressing room."

His strike made it 2-0 after Neymar had opened the scoring and Lionel Messi had missed a penalty, but if it wasn't for his defensive contribution earlier in the game, Levante may have took the lead.

Racing back into his own box, Rakitic was able to brilliantly turn a Morales cross behind for a corner.

Three more points for Barça gives them a four point lead over Atletico Madrid, while they remain six ahead of Real Madrid.

Rakitic, though, insists that doesn't matter at this stage of the season.

“We don’t look at other teams," he continued.

"We care what we do and we’re on the right track.

“This is difficult place to play, so it was important we got the second goal, it meant we could relax, and after [Loukas Vyntra’s] red card it was easier."
