'It's time to say enough' - Neymar Sr. on transfer court case

'It's time to say enough' - Neymar Sr. on transfer court case

Neymar’s father has been called to speak in court regarding the complaint made by the Brazilian company DIS regarding his son’s transfer from Santos to Barcelona.

Neymar is also set to declare on Tuesday, after Barça president Josep Maria Bartomeu and ex-president Sandro Rosell appear on Monday.

In the lead up to his appearance, Neymar Sr. has given an interview to ‘Globo TV’ where he explained the off-the-field situation. During the interview, he was accompanied by his son.

“We want to bring this all to an end. It’s time to say enough. If these attorneys are looking for attention, they’ve achieved it. We want to put and end to this subject and we’re going to,” he said.

“We’re going to clarify things in a definitive way. We wanted justice to resolve it, but now we are tired and we want to clarify everything as soon as possible.”

He continued: “There is nothing against us. The judge has called for us to talk to learn about the transfer. If we’ve committed an error, there’s no problem, but to accuse us of tax evasion has crossed the line.”

NEYMAR, AFFECTED

For his part, Neymar didn’t deny that the situation is affecting him, however much he tries to keep out of proceedings.

“When things begin to affect my family, it influences [me] a little - you do worry,” the Brazil international said.

“However, I’ve been given a gift from God which allows me to focus on what I like doing, which is playing football. I just concentrate on what I have to do.

“My dad just wants me to dedicate myself to playing and to focus on the ball.

“When you see a person you love being affected, suffering, people saying things that aren’t true… then it hurts you.

“Before speaking without knowledge, saying lies, you have to present evidence.”
