FIFA have made public the 24 candidates for The Best award, which picks out the best player in the world according to the votes of captains, national team coaches, fans and journalists, at a gala on October 23 in London.

Three Barcelona players are on the list - Andres Iniesta, Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez. Neymar is there too for his performances with the club, with the prize awarded for displays between November 2016 and July 2017.

The other nominees are Aubameyang, Bonucci, Buffon, Carvajal, Cristiano Ronaldo, Dybala, Griezmann, Hazard, Ibrahimovic, Kane, Kante, Kroos, Lewandowski, Marcelo, Modric, Keylor Navas, Neuer, Sergio Ramos, Alexis Sánchez and Arturo Vidal.

Expert panel

The list was chosen by FIFA, with the following names contributing: Cafú, Landon Donovan, Francescoli, Frei, Nakata, Maradona, Okocha, Puyol, Valderrama, Van der Sar and Vicelich.

FIFA also published their coaching award list, with Luis Enrique, Barcelona's coach last season up for it, along with Real Madrid's Zinedine Zidane.

Completing the list are Allegri, Ancelotti, Conte, Guardiola, Jardim, Löw, Mourinho, Pochettino, Simeone and Tite.
