Iniesta has his eye on Real Madrid clash: "One step more!"

The midfielder is recovering well from the knee injury he sustained against Valencia

Andres Iniesta is set on returning in time for the Clasico against Real Madrid at Camp Nou on Dec. 3.

In fact, if he manages to make himself available, you could say it’s a small miracle given the time he was ruled out for with knee ligament damage.

Don’t forget that on Oct. 22, when he picked up the injury after a challenge from Valencia’s Enzo Perez, the club confirmed he would be sidelined for between six and eight weeks.

Dec. 3 will be exactly six weeks. But that’s Iniesta.

On Wednesday the player posted a photo to his social media accounts in which he can be seen training with the ball in a sandpit.

As well as the photograph, he added the caption: “One step more!”

It’s clear the sensations couldn’t be better. There are still more than two weeks until the Clasico and the Barça captain is making huge progress.

Now he just needs to move into the third phase of his recovery: readapting to the ball and rejoining group training.

In more or less 10 days he will be back with the group and if that proves the case he could still be ready in time for Madrid.
