Ibrahim Afellay could be set for Barça exit to Besiktas

Ibrahim Afellay is waiting for a transfer option that suits both him and Barcelona, with Turkish outfit Besiktas the latest club to be linked to him.

Luis Enrique played him against Recreativo Huelva in pre-season, not against Nice and he has not even been selected for the match against Napoli.

He was signed in the January transfer window of 2011. He came from PSV Eindhoven for little more than €3million.

However he found it hard to get in the team, then run by Pep Guardiola, and suffered a serious rupture of the ACL in his right knee in October 2011.

Afellay returned in April 2012, replacing Sergio Busquets for a 17 minute substitute appearance in a 7-0 win over Rayo Vallecano.

The club decided to loan him to Schalke 04, but there were several muscle injuries which kept him out until January 2014.

Now the club are looking to sell him and if Turkish information is correct, Besiktas could be his new home. He has played 27 games for Barca, with 2 goals.

At 28 years old and with a contract that expires in June 2015, now is time for him to go.
