Neymar told Valverde first that he wanted to leave the Catalan club

He then said goodbye to his team-mates, one by one, before leaving

The day has arrived. Neymar was the last to arrive at Barcelona's training ground and the first thing he did was go to Ernesto Valverde's office to tell him he was leaving the club. The manager did not waste a second telling him that, therefore, it made no sense for him to train. Valverde then gave him permission to miss training and to resolve his future.

After that, Neymar went to the dressing room to say goodbye to his team-mates, one by one, but there was no collective announcement. He simply hugged each player and said goodbye to each one after four years at the club.

Upon leaving the dressing room, the Brazilian said goodbye to various employees that he met on his way back to the car park before leaving the training base at 9.30am. Less than half an hour was all it took for a cold goodbye as he left through the back door after weeks of silence.
