How Neymar celebrated turning 25 with private party in Barcelona

The Brazilian used increased security after the press were present at last year's party

Barcelona player Neymar turned 25 on Sunday and celebrated with his friends and family at a popular nightspot in the city. The player, who received birthday messages from the football world on social media, invited over 100 people to the event.

Neymar chose the restaurant-lounge Nuba, which is owned by by Barça director Javier Bordas and located up town in the Catalan city. The Brazilian closed down the venue for the occasion, unlike last year when he only had one room and had to mix with opportunistic press.

Given that, the Brazil international was able to have a much more relaxed night, using underground parking so that no-one could see him entering the venue.

In fact, all the guests were advised to modify their use of their mobiles. Both Neymar and his friends usually submit a lot of their lives on social media. However, on this occasion, very few images were published of the party.

The player's Barcelona team-mates, who were invited, were the main absentees. Barça play Atletico Madrid in the Copa del Rey semi-final on Tuesday so need to be focused on that game. Neymar, though, is suspended and Luis Enrique allowed him to organise the party.
