How does Barcelona's Lionel Messi spend his free time away from football?

Lionel Messi has revealed how he spends his day-to-day life in Barcelona in an interesting interview with the well-known television show 'Mundo Leo'.

The Barcelona forward, away from matches and training, likes to spend as much time as possible with his family.

"My day-to-day? I get up early and have breakfast with my family, with Antonella and Thiago," Messi explained.

"Then they go to the pre-school and I go to training."

After training, providing there is no match in sight, the Argentina international said there's nothing too special to his home life.

"I get back to the house, we eat, take a siesta, drink some mates [a Uruguayan herbal drink] and then we'll go out," he continued.

"We try to do things to make sure Thiago doesn't get bored."

Messi lives for his family and, above all, for his son Thiago, who is at an age where he can be easily distracted. Barça's No.10 is currently looking for a school for Thiago.

"He goes to a creche at the moment but next year he will begin school and now we've more or less organised where we want him to study," Messi added.

And the 27-year-old continued to glow when talking about his son.

"With Thiago we enjoy every moment. Every day he does something new, tries to speak, to communicate. It's incredible," Messi concluded.
