Has Josep Maria Bartomeu agreed a deal to bring Isco to Barcelona?

On Monday, Josep Maria Bartomeu insinuated that one of his trump cards in the election campaign was a top level Spanish midfielder, a player who is currently at a Spanish club in a transfer which would be announced in the run up to the Barcelona elections in July.

Names quicky came out, with Koke, Vicente Iborra and Dani Parejo put on the table... but 'El Economista' report that Bartomeu is talking about none other than a player who plays for Barça's eternal rival: Real Madrid's Isco.

He has been in and out of the Madrid side and could look to leave the Bernabeu for another opportunity at a big club after. Madrid signed him following his impressive form at Malaga, so if he went on to do well at Barça, it would be a huge blow to Los Blancos.

The Malaga-born player has been linked with Barça in the past and it is known that he admites the club. Even his pet, a dog, is named after Lionel Messi.

Time will tell if Bartomeu has reached a deal to sign Isco; if he has tied down a key part of his electoral campaign to re-take his place as Barça presdient. Or could it have been a bluff that he would sign a midfielder?
