Happy day: Andres Iniesta waves goodbye to his medical splint

The midfielder has been out for two weeks and has now entered the second phase of his recovery process

Andres Iniesta has reached the second phase of his recovery. The Blaugrana midfielder injured his right knee on October 22 against Mestalla and has gone two weeks since then in his recovery process, with an orthopedic splint around it.

He was finally able to take it off on Thursday and celebrated with a picture of it removed on Twitter. He wrote the following message: "You've helped me a lot but I don't want to see you any more."

The player's recovery will now involve a lot of physiotherapy and work in the gym. A step further in the process.

The medics imagined he would be out for between six and eight weeks and Andres therefore still has some way to go before Luis Enrique can count on him.

After this next phase is over it will be running on the grass and then eventually when he is better, reincorporation into the training group.

He also left a message for his team-mates who were defeated by Manchester City. "We have to continue with confidence in what we do. There are two games left to hit out top objective. Forca Barca."
