Halilovic could be used as a makeweight for early Denis Suarez return

After completing an early deal with Sevilla for the signing of Aleix Vidal on Monday, Barça's dealings with Los Nervionenses may just be getting underway for the summer, with a familiar face linked with further transfer activity.

Denis Suarez spent last season on loan with Unai Emery's men, in a bid to gain first-team experience, but both Rac1 and Onda Cero are linking the 21-year-old attacking midfielder with at least a bit-part place in Luis Enrique's upcoming plans.

However, the deal is not as simple as it may first appear. Sevilla's loan of the young Spaniard was constructed to span over two seasons, with the Catalan club unable to recall the former Manchester City youngster prematurely as a result.

Barcelona could dip into their B team as an alternative option, with hot prospect Alen Halilovic a potentially useful and enticing bargaining tool for the league champions to call upon. With Barça unable to recall Suarez outright, the former Dinamo Zagreb midfielder may be asked to follow in compatriot Ivan Rakitic's footsteps in order to help force through a deal, with the 2015 Champions League final's first goalscorer previously enjoying great success at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan.

Uncertain summers lie ahead

Barça have a host of other players out gaining much-needed first-team minutes, with Cristian Tello also having another year left of his temporary spell with Porto.

Ibrahim Afellay looks set to be free to join another club on a free in the summer, after spending last season on loan at Greek top-flight outfit Olympiacos, with the Dutchman far from being in the first-team picture.

Alex Song should return to Barcelona in the near future, with a permanent deal with West Ham doubtful. The Cameroon international still has time remaining on his contract at Camp Nou, but the Catalan club will look to sell or loan the former Arsenal midfielder once again when the transfer window reopens.

Gerard Deulofeu could face a transfer dilemma after failing to impress consistently at Sevilla.
