Halilovic: Barcelona should have signed Kovacic
Alen Halilovic says that Barcelona should have signed Mateo Kovacic instead of letting Real Madrid have him.
The Croatian midfielder said of his compatriot: "I don't know why Barça didn't sign Kovacic. He's really, really good. He's a player with a really bright future."
Halilovic has been sent to Sporting Gijon to develop on loan, and explained on Cadena SER "I'm very happy here. Sporting are a great club, with great players and a good manager."
He was also delighted to run into Lionel Messi during his time at Barcelona.
Halilovic explained: "I went to Barça because of Messi. He's the best. The first day I saw him was a shock. I went weak at the knees."
