Guardiola: I'll never be the president of Barça... that's for Pique

Pep Guardiola says he will never be the president of Barcelona after Fabio Capello suggested the Manchester City coach was thinking of a Camp Nou return.

However, speaking in a press conference on Thursday, Guardiola knocked back Capello’s suggestion.

“I had the fortune to be managed by Fabio Capello and I tell him I will never be the president of Barcelona… that’s for Gerard Pique,” he said.

Capello had told Sky Sports Italia: “In my view he [Guardiola] has the idea of becoming president of Barcelona.”

Guardiola also clarified comments he made earlier this week that he’s approaching the end of his managerial career

“I won’t be coaching when I’m 60, but guys, I’m 45,” he said. “I am in the perfect place to continue working.

“In the future I want to do more with my life. I started playing football very early. Maybe it was inappropriate to say I’m beginning to say goodbye to my career.”
