'Guardiola has the idea of becoming president of Barcelona'

According to Capello, this is why Guardiola won't be in management when he gets older

Fabio Capello has been speaking about the recent comments made by Pep Guardiola, who suggested he was approaching the end of his managerial career, and has said that he believes the Catalan's idea is to become the Barcelona president.

The veteran Italian coach, now 70 and out of work since leaving the Russia job in 2015, was speaking to Sky Sports in Italy and was asked about his feelings on Man City boss Guardiola's suggestion he was already thinking about leaving management.

“Guardiola’s football is fundamentally always the same and if the opponents figure out counter-measures, he has to find an alternative," Capello began.

“In any case, I think if he made these statements, it is also because in my view he has the idea of becoming president of Barcelona.”

Back in 2002, as a player, Guardiola was part of Capello' Roma team for five games before returning to Brescia in 2003.
