Graffiti appears on Camp Nou walls criticising Barça board

Some hours after Barça president Josep Maria Bartomeu's marathon press conference, the exterior of the Camp Nou was found to have been subject to graffiti, with messages critical of the board daubed on the outer walls.

The unfriendly phrases were provoked by the pact made with the authorities in the Neymar tax case.

Overnight, various individuals arrived in cars at the surrounding area of the Barcelona stadium. They took out bottles of paint and began to write messages on the walls, which called the Barça directors "mafioso", "cowards", "liars" and "traitors".

One of the phrases insulted former president Sandro Rosell. Once their work was done, the perpetrators left quickly in their vehicles.

In his press conference, Bartomeu had also answered questions on other controversial topics within the Barça support, such as the plans to introduce an 'animation section' of fans to get behind the team, and the 'action of responsibility' brought against former president Joan Laporta and 16 of his directors.
