Goalkeeper Ter Stegen is ready to pen a new contract with Barcelona

The player's agent, Gerd vom Bruch, has hinted that the goalkeeper would like a new deal

Marc-Andre ter Stegen’s agent, Gerd vom Bruch, has told Diari ARA that the German goalkeeper is keen to sign a new contract with Barcelona.

After flirting with an exit this summer, the goalkeeper is now the indisputable goalkeeper at the club and is now happy to continue at Camp Nou.

“Marc’s in the position which he himself had set as his target, so he can imagine himself renewing his contract with Barça,” Vom Bruch said, before adding that the stopper is “very comfortbale” in Barcelona.

On what happened this summer, Vom Bruch explained that “[Ter Stegen] wanted to play more and there was interest in him from some big clubs. Barça said that there was no way they would let him go and we accepted that.”

He didn’t want to confirm if Pep Guardiola had guaranteed the goalkeeper a starting spot at Manchester City, but he said that the Catalan coach “has a clear idea how his goalkeeper has to be and how he wants him to play with his feet.”
