Glen Johnson back on Barcelona radar as Dani Alves replacement

Glen Johnson back on Barcelona radar as Dani Alves replacement

Glen Johnson has reappeared in Barcelona's orbit. The full-back is out of contract with Liverpool in June and has been offered to Barcelona, something which happpened last summer too.

Barcelona have received the proposition and taking into account that the deal would cost nothing, will keep it in mind if they need a different option to Dani Alves, who may leave in the summer as well.

The truth is that the Blaugrana have not formally negotiated with Alves' representative, Dinorah Santa Ana, and there has not been a formal offer from PSG either.

However, the footballer knows that there are several top European sides who are looking for a player in his position.

President Josep Maria Bartomeu said: "I cannot explain anything about the plans for reinforcing next season. We are working on this and for a few weeks we are advancing with maximum discretion."

Johnson, 31, has suffered 13 injuries in his career and that creates doubts for Barcelona. His knee, ankle and groin problems are particularly notable.
