Gerard Pique to take a break as Barcelona welcome Getafe; Vermaelen also misses out

Barcelona defender Gerard Pique, who had to re-establish himself as a key part of Luis Enrique's defence earlier this season, will take a rest against Getafe.

Pique becomes the latest 'victim' of his manager's rotations ahead of several important matches to finish the season.

The Catalan centre-back has not taken a break since December 16 when Barça played Huesca at Camp Nou in the Copa del Rey. In terms of La Liga, the last game he missed was the loss to Celta Vigo at the beginning of November.

Thomas Vermaelen has not made the squad either. The Belgian has been cleared to return to action, but is still lacking match fitness and will watch from the stands.

Meanwhile, Jordi Alba is banned and Jordi Masip and Douglas, for technical reasons, have not been called up.

Here is the full squad for Barcelona's match with Getafe on Tuesday night (8pm CET):

Ter Stegen, Bravo, Alves, Montoya, Bartra, Adriano, Mascherano, Mathieu, Busquets, Sergi Roberto, Rafinha, Rakitic, Iniesta, Xavi, Pedro, Messi, Neymar, Suarez.
