Gerard Pique gets a beer created in his honour
Gerard Pique has been the inspiration for a Barcelona-based company, which produces craft beer. Those in charge at the company are fanatics of Barça and, according to one of its co-directors, Oriol Renart, "absolute fans of Gerard Pique".
The company wanted to make its particular tribute to the central defender with a beer that they define as "unique and tasty, it has a touch of ginger to make it more refreshing."
The beer is called 'Piquenbauer', and can be found in the bar that the company has opened in Barcelona, on Calle Muntaner, number 7. It can also be bought in a handful of other establishments.
The beer label contains the Barça maroon and blue colours and the number three that Pique wears for the club.
The logo of the beer hangs from the walls of the company's bar along with photographs of Hristo Stoichkov, Eric Cantona ad George Best, the other three footballers of which 'Barcelona Beer Company' declare themselves fans.
