Robert Fernandez confirmed Barça want to bring the winger home

His agent will meet with the club in the coming weeks to discuss details

Barcelona have already taken the decision to exercise their clause which allows them to bring Gerard Deulofeu back for 12 million euros from Everton, but the player will have the final say.

The academy product is able to veto a potential return to Camp Nou, although his intention is to return to the club. But he will lay out certain conditions.

Deulofeu will only give the green light to the move if he has certain guarantees. He wants to be in the first team and not used as a money-making operation. Barça are clear on what their intentions are with the player.

POST-CLASICO MEETING

Deulofeu's people, for now, have not spoken in public about a return. The player himself has limited himself to saying that he's flattered Barça would want to re-sign him. They're aware of Robert Fernandez's comments that the club are studying bringing him back to the first team.

They view it all positively, but they have a meeting with the club to talk about any potential return. This meeting will take place in the coming weeks, after the Clasico against Real Madrid and when Barça know what their objectives are for the end of the season.

In this meeting, more than financial terms, which will also be discussed, the players will ask for sporting guarantees. He knows that he is in a key moment of his career and doesn't want to be ostracised. Deulofeu's been reborn at Milan and has some tempting offers. The first, from the Italian club, who are ready to go all in after his impressive form in Serie A.

THREE ITALIAN OPTIONS

His form in Italy has also impressed Inter and Napoli, who have also expressed an interest. Deulofeu is comfortable in Italy and his performances have seen him return to the Spain squad.

But Barça's plan had always been to sign an attacking player with pace who can unbalance defences. Deulofeu's return to form has thrown up an affordable option -- and also a player who knows the club well. Gerard knows of the competition at the Catalan club, while in Milan he's a regular starter. At the moment, all options are open but all parties want to close a return to Barça. It just needs to be finalised.
