The winger is finally happy at being part of the Barcelona squad after much time away

He spoke about his position under Valverde and how things are going

Gerard Deulofeu spoke to Barcelona's official website. Here is the pick of what he said...

LA MASIA

"When I came to Barça as a child I was crazy about football and wanted to get to the first team. In my case, I liked Ronaldinho a lot."

“I had to take advantage and work hard every day to raise my level and achieve my objectives."

LOAN MOVES AWAY FROM FC BARCELONA

“Going to new teams and listening to the coaches made me mature and think about what was happening."

"That helped me to change a lot as a person, because when I was younger, I was more crazy and I didn’t think things through that much."

DEULOFEU AS A PLAYER

"I work hard to do what I have to do over the weekend, and I study the opposition.”

"I have improved in many aspects, especially defensively. Now I am more of a team player, before I was more individual.”

SERIE A AND THE PREMIER LEAGUE

"English football is direct and it’s experienced with a lot of passion. The Premier League is very good, one of the best leagues, even though the best players are here [in La Liga].”

"I have great memories of my time at Milan, they were the happiest months of my life, because the birth of my daughter happened at the same time."

VALVERDE’S BARÇA

“I’m happy that I’m playing and contributing to the team but you always want to do more."

"We are achieving our goals and we have to continue like that. Now we have some very important games before Christmas. In the League we have to keep winning, and in the Champions League we have to ensure qualification for the next round."

VISITING A FAMILIAR STADIUM

"Juventus Stadium is a very difficult ground and Juve are a very organised team. I played there with Milan in the League and Cup.”

"We have to enjoy playing football. Barça can win anywhere."

BEING A FATHER

Asked if it was more difficult for him to change nappies or score a goal, Deulofeu laughed. "I learned to change nappies very quickly,” he explained, referring to his daughter Sara who is seven months old. "Being a father is the best feeling in the world, and we’re happy to watch her grow," he said.
