PSG sporting director Antero Henrique said the player is not for sale

A lot of work will have to be done if Barça are to land Verratti this summer

Barcelona have made their move to sign Marco Verratti, according to Gazzetta dello Sport on Saturday. The Italian newspaper reports that the Blaugrana have contacted Paris Saint-Germain to being talks over signing the midfielder.

Gazzetta reveal that Barça representatives made contact with PSG's spoting director, Antero Henrique, on Friday with the intention of pushing through a deal this summer.

However, Henrique's response was clear and Barça will have to do a lot of work in the background to manage to sign the Italian international who, fow now, PSG say is not for sale.

"On July 4 Verratti will be back with PSG because president Khelaifi has decided not to sell him," say sources from the French club in Gazzetta's report.

This is PSG's first reaction and it's normal when a club don't want to sell a player. From here Barca must convince the Ligue 1 runners-up to sell and will need Verratti to play his part in forcing them to let him leave, too.
