Gabriel Jesus: "They will remember me for winning gold in Rio"

The interest shown by FC Barcelona in Gabriel Jesus has catapulted the forward into the limelight in Brazil, particularly ahead of the Rio Olympic Games in August.

The gold medal in the Olympic Games is a title deeply desired by the Brazilian public, as it is the only one missing from their extensive honours list.

Gabriel Jesus is aware of what the tournament means to Brazilians. In his meeting with Ronaldo for 'TVGlobo', he said: I have the dream of winning this gold medal, that will be a highlight of both my career and of Brazil's history. They will remember me for this medal."

The Palmeiras forward does not consider the possibility of anything other than success in the Olympics: "The spirit of the team is to win gold. I know that pressure could hurt us, but for me it represents everything. We have a 90% chance of winning the title."

Gabriel Jesus will play alongside Neymar in Rio, a tandem that could be repeated at Camp Nou should the Catalan club's negotiations with Palmeiras prove successful.
