Gabriel Jesus dazzles in front of watching Barcelona eyes

Two goals, flicks, great passes, nutmegging rivals... an exhibition. FC Barcelona director Raul Sanllehi chose the best day possible to watch Gabriel Jesus, the latest star of Brazilian football.

The Palmeiras forward, still just 19, starred in his side's 2-0 win against America, which opened the 10th round of fixtures in the Brasileirao. With the win, the side enhanced their chances of winning the title, moving three points clear having played one game more than their nearest rivals.

The presence of Sanllehi, who was joined by Barça's South American representative Andre Cury, at the Allianz Parque stadium confirms what SPORT exlusively revealed 10 days ago: Barça are interested in signing teenage star Gabriel Jesus

He scored two two goals in 12 minutes (the 18th and the 26th of the first half). Both goals came on the back of almost identical moves involving another 19-year-old in the Palmerias side, Roger Guedes. And Barça target Gabriel Jesus finished well from close range both times, showing his ability to be in the right place at the right time.

Prior to that he'd gone three games without scoring, but he's now scored six in 10 league games. However, he's much more than just a goalscorer in the box. During the game he also showed that he can play on both flanks and that he can also drop into the middle and help his team keep the ball.
