Vinicius is being followed by Barcelona and is impressing in Brazil's youth teams

In a recent interview he spoke about being able to meet his idol Neymar

Vinicius Jr., the Flamengo boy wonder who Barcelona are following, has explained in the magazine Rede Globo how his encounter with his idol Neymar went.

The two Brazilians met in San Paulo during the most recent international break.

"I was so excited when I met him. Neymar is a humble guy, I don't have words to express what I felt. I told him that he was my idol," revealed the 16-year-old forward, who was recent named MVP at the Sudamericano U-17 tournament which took place in Chile.

Vini feels genuine devotion for the Barça No.11. "I would like to be like Neymar," he continued. "I like his audacity, I watch everything he does and, sometimes, I try to copy him and do the same on the pitch.

The youngster also revealed Ney gave him some advice: "He told me to have patience, to continue working hard and to focus on football."

In the same report, Flamengo manager Ze Ricardo explains the club's plan for the starlet: "He will train with us and continue playing with the U-20 side, when we see the right moment, maybe he can debut and play with the professionals."

Vinicius' contract is until 2019 and his release clause is 30 million euros. Barça can only sign him in 2018, when he will turn 18.

Aware of the situation, said: "Flamengo have given me everything, to me and to my family. My dream is to be able to win the Copa Libertadores here."
