Cristiano Ronaldo is a better player than Lionel Messi. That’s what the creators of the popular video game FIFA believe after they situated the Portuguese forward about the Argentine on the latest edition of their game.
In total, the Real Madrid man has a score of 94, making him the highest rated player on the game. Messi scores 93 (out of 100), while Neymar completes the podium with 92.
If we analyse the details of FIFA’s parameters, the comparison is also surprising. In rhythm and acceleration, Ronaldo has 92 and Messi just 89, despite the former becoming more a box player in recent seasons.
The Portuguese international also wins on shooting (92-90) and defending (33-26). It’s surprising that there’s such a big difference on the latter attribute given Ronaldo has often been criticised for his defensive work - without going further, by Jose Mourinho.
As for physique rating, Ronaldo scores 80 and Messi 61. It’s true that the Madrid player is in excellent physical condition, but the difference seems excessive.
Messi wins in passing, but not by much, and also in dribbling.
