Five reasons Liverpool's Coutinho would fit in perfectly at Barcelona

Philippe Coutinho continues to constantly develop. The Brazilian has impressed for Liverpool this season and helped Brazil beat Argentina on Thursday, scoring a wonder goal in the first half. He’s being followed by Barcelona and would fit in perfectly at Camp Nou. Here are the five reasons he’d quickly adapt…

1.- Easy adaption to club and city

From January to May in 2012, Coutinho lived in the Catalan capital while on loan at Espanyol from Inter Milan. For that reason, he knows the city perfectly, which would help his integration off the pitch. As was seen during his time at Espanyol, Coutinho has a good entourage.

2.- Total midfielder

What makes Coutinho different is that he unites technical quality with work rate, he has no problem chipping in defensively. For that reason, he’d work well in a Luis Enrique side. As we’ve seen with Rakitic and Iniesta, Coutinho would cover the distance while also adding quality.

3.- Connection with Ney

The fact that Philippe and Neymar have known each other since 2008, when they played for Brazil’s U15s, is key. Now they’re regulars in Tite’s Brazil side and both contributed to Thursday’s win over Argentina. They’re friends on and off the pitch.

4.- Friendship with Luis Suarez

The Uruguayan and the Brazilian coincided at Liverpool and built a friendship which extended off the pitch. Coutinho, for that reason, would have a brilliant understanding with the MSN… without doubt he would strike up a great relationship with Luisito and Ney.

5.- Barça profile

Without going into the topic of having Blaugrana DNA or not, what is certain is that Philippe Coutinho has the technical and tactical qualities to fit into a team that has an attacking philosophy. The Brazilian is a footballer for the present but at 24 he also has his best years ahead of him.
