Fiorentina offer swap deal involving Mario Gomez and Cristian Tello

Fiorentina have thought of an alternative method of reopening the negotiations for Cristian Tello.

The Italian club is unable to meet the eight million euros asking price solicited by FC Barcelona for the forward, and aware of the difficulties that the Blaugrana are having in finding a player to cover Leo Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar, they have put a swap deal with Mario Gomez on the table.

The German striker has left Besiktas due to the political instability in Turkey, and Fiorentina are searching for another club to take the player.

Cristian Tello is content with the economic conditions offered by the Serie A side, but Barça are not happy to loan him out again, as Fiorentina had wanted.

Mario Gomez is one of the alternative options that the Barcelona technical secretary, Robert Fernandez, has always had under consideration as a Plan B option of a proven, veteran goalscorer.

The problem is the high salary that the Germany international receives.

Mario Gomez earns around five million euros after tax, a figure that surpasses the forecasts of the Catalan club, considering their tight wage limit restraints and the fact that Gomez would be joining as a substitute.
