The Catalan side's captain is expecting a new deal and to end his career at the club

Barcelona captain Andres Iniesta has announced that he's thinking of beginning talks soon with FC Barcelona. The reason being it's nearly time for a new contract for the midfielder. 

Iniesta revealed as much on the show El Partidazo on Cadena COPE once Barça and Atletico Madrid's 1-1 draw had ended at Camp Nou.

"I want to end my career with Barcelona, I have a contract until 2018," he said. 

The Catalan club's captain reiterated to COPE that "you will have to ask those in charge when it's my turn to renew, I want to end my career here." 

GUARDIOLA A REFERENCE 

In the same interview, Iniesta was asked if Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola could tempt him: "He knows what I have said many times, that my wish is to finish my career in Barcelona.

"Guardiola is a reference who I learned many things from, but for me the best is Luis Enrique now because he's our coach." 

As for the Atletico game, he added: "In general, I think we played well, above all in the first half.

"We were against a team that usually do well and even though we didn't create a lot of openings, we did have chances on goal."
