Fans come from all over the world to get Adidas's limited Lionel Messi boots

FC Barcelona star Lionel Messi had his own special boots released on Saturday, but Adidas only made 100 pairs.

On Friday, Messi lamented the fact he's unable to wear them at the moment due to his injury. "I wish I could be playing in such special boots, the Messi 10/10, but I’m still recovering," he wrote. "If you want to get them, go to the Adidas Barcelona store tomorrow. Only 100 pairs were made!"

Of the 100, only 89 pairs went on sale. One pair went to Messi, while the other 10 were given to the players chosen by the Argentina international in the campaign 'Chosen by Messi'. Among those selected to receive a pair were Manchester United's James Wilson and Chelsea's Robert Kenedy.

People queued for three days waiting for the boots to go on sale. Messi was impressed by their dedication, posting on Saturday: "It’s amazing to hear fans travelled across the world to get a pair of Messi 10/10 boots in Barcelona. Many thanks to all! Looking forward to next year already."
