Exclusive: Vinicius Jr. won over by the money offered by Real Madrid

Vinicius Jr. will be a Real Madrid player from 2018 on. SPORT can confirm that the Flamengo starlet and his representatives have reached an agreement with the Spanish club which will come into effect in July 12, 2018. 

The 16-year-old and his agents have changed their minds in recent days. The motive is simple: Florentino Perez has exhibited once again the power of his check book to avoid a second humiliation after what happened with Neymar. In total, Los Blancos have won the player and his agents round after presenting a spectacular offer worth 61 million euros for Vinicius. 

Perez didn’t want to take any risks and as such came up with an offer worth 45 million for Flamengo up front, eight million for the player’s agents and another eight million in add-ons depending on how he progresses once signed by Madrid. 

Barça preferred to keep out of the bidding once it scaled such heights. They had been interested and had been Vinicius’s first choice, but the Catalan club feel the money on the table is scandalous for the signing of a 16-year-old. 

For now, Vinicius has only offered a post on social media stressing his love for his current team, Flamengo.
