Exclusive: Rafinha will debut his personalised mask against PSG

He will miss two games with a broken nose but technology will allow him to return quickly

Rafinha will wear a personalised mask after it was confirmed on Sunday that in addition to cutting his head -- which required 12 stitches -- he also broke his nose in the unfortunate clash with Marc-Andre ter Stegen on Saturday.

The fracture will oblige him to wear a face mask during the coming weeks when he makes his return to action.

In fact, in the coming days there's a plan for him to see a specialist to begin the construction of a personalised mask.

Thanks to technology, the new masks have very little to do with the ones once worn by Leo Messi and Carles Puyol. Now they are much lighter, weighing hardly 60 grams, given they use elements approved in the aeronautical industry.

It will take little more than 16 hours to make the mask courtest of high-end 3D printing.

In addition, it is made with the focus on facilitating ease of vision and providing a great resistance for greater security for the player.

Rafinha will debut the mask on Feb. 14 in the Champions League game against Paris Saint-Germain. The Brazilian, by then, will already have had several days training with the mask on.

Therefore, he's ruled out of Tuesday's Copa del Rey semifinal second leg against Atletico Madrid at Camp Nou and the league game against Alaves at the Medizorroza next Saturday.
