Exclusive: Leo Messi says Iniesta's injury is tough for Barcelona

En declaraciones en exclusiva para SPORT, Messi admitió la dureza del encuentro en Valencia

Lionel Messi was delighted with Barcelona’s 3-2 win over Valencia—he scored a last minute penalty and celebrated wildly. However he told Sport “the worst thing about yesterday is Andres’ injury”.

The midfielder came home with a bittersweet flavour in the mouth after the injury which will keep Iniesta out of action for six to eight weeks. “The truth is it leaves us feeling bad. I hope Iniesta comes back soon.”

Reaction on social media from the team saw many Barcelona players wish the midfielder a quick recovery. If Messi is the genius that has led Barcelona in the last decade, Iniesta is the man who stamped identity on the team, even more so after Xavi left the club and left him as the head of the engine room.

Messi also told Sport that it "was a very hard game, when they scored the second goal against us we knew we would have to turn it round in very little time and give everything to do it in such a complicated stadium to play at like Mestalla. Valencia created plenty of danger and had a good game."
