Exclusive: How Aleix Vidal feels after being snubbed from Deportivo clash

The footballer is sad, but he wants to keep fighting with the hope of triumphing at Barcelona

Aleix Vidal had the hope of playing against Deportivo. Or at least being called up to the squad and recovering some sensations after weeks of ostracism. The full-back knows his situation is difficult but on Saturday he suffered a true blow in his last hopes of playing for Barcelona.

The footballer is sad, but wants to keep fighting. He arrived with the hope of triumphing at Barcelona. For now he wants to meditate on his situation but his objective is day to day to keep training as hard as he can to convince the coach he deserves a chance. He doesn't feel totally beaten yet.

The injury for Sergi Roberto opened the door for Aleix, but he knows that after the Alaves debacle, his situation in the squad has changed. Luis Enrique feels he is responsible in a big way for that defeat and the player considers that unjust as the whole team was not at their best.

Since then Vidal has not spoken much to the coach and has been receiving public messages from him that he should work harder. He has done that in recent weeks but this latest snub has cast more doubt on his situation.

Vidal is not bitter towards Enrique, who asked for him specifically to be signed. There have been no confrontations and no discussions of an exit in January.
