The coach has been out of work since quitting Camp Nou

He's looking for a job that will motivate him, not a big offer

Luis Enrique Martínez took a year off when he finished his playing career at Barcelona, going to Australia, and he's in the process of doing the same after leaving the club for a second time last summer.

One of the most successful coaches in the club's history (nine out of a possible 12), he decided he needed a break to restore the normality in his life. Away from the spotlight, Luis Enrique is living a normal life in Catalonia, with his family and friends.

At the same time, he's not forgotten about football and plans to return to coaching. He is listening to offers for the near future. Maybe even next season. Luis Enrique, who doesn't have an agent, is listening to the offers but is not making any decisions. Not yet. So far, various clubs have contacted him.

Luis Enrique's priorities are not economical but sporting and personal. He wants to find a winning project in a city where his family will be comfortable. Therefore, he would lean to an offer from Chelsea or Tottenham (both London based) over Liverpool or one of the Manchester clubs.

At the same time, at the top of the pile of desirable cities with London, are Munich and Paris.

The former Barça boss has time ahead of him and is in no rush. But, for the moment, he's waiting to see what happens with some of Europe's biggest clubs. "He will train where he wants," say those that know him well.
