Everton still hopeful of landing Barça midfielder Sergi Roberto this summer

Everton have not forgotten about Sergi Roberto and are still hoping to take him to England before the start of next season.

Roberto's future remains unclear and Catalan coach Roberto Martinez has been monitoring him closely.

Despite the fact he has played limited minutes under Luis Enrique -- has featured just nine times in the league, three times from the start -- Premier League clubs view him as a player of real quality

More than just Everton have asked about his current situation.

It's Everton who have shown the most interest, though. One month ago they asked about the possibility of taking him on loan next season.

The Toffees have not has a great season and Martinez would like to strengthen in the summer to increase their competitiveness.

Which is where Roberto comes in, a player Martinez feels would do well in England.

Before Everton stepped up their interest, Bojan and Marc Muniesa's Stoke City had also been asking questions about the 23-year-old from Reus.
