Everton launch offensive for Barcelona target Lucas Perez

Everton sporting director Steve Walsh has been tracking the developments of Deportivo La Coruna striker Lucas Perez for a long time and believes the Galician could form a strong attacking duo with Romelu Lukaku.

The Toffees have added four players so far this summer in Maarten Stekelenburg, Idrissa Gueye, Ashley Williams and Yannick Bolasie.

Perez, scorer of 17 goals last season in La Liga, could cost around 17.5 million euros. With eight days to go until the transfer window closes, Everton are also looking to secure the signings of Joe Hart and Lamine Kone.

One player who looks set to leave Goodison Park is Senegal international Oumar Niasse, who has failed to gain the confidence of coach Ronald Koeman.

Niasse, 25, arrived at Everton for 15.8 million euros but was hardly given any game time during his first six months at the club by former coach Roberto Martinez.
