The former Barcelona player has been lined up for sensational La Liga return

He has not featured regularly under Conte and may leave the London club this summer

Atletico Madrid have made former Barcelona midfielder Cesc Fabregas one of their top targets for the summer.

The Chelsea man is currently in an out of Antonio Conte's side and Eurosport report he could be in line for a sensational return to Spain.

However, it depends on Atletico successfully overcoming a transfer ban which currently prohibits them from signing players this summer.

Real Madrid have received news that they are allowed to sign players this summer and the Rojiblanco are hopeful the CAS will allow them to make moves in the market, too.

According to Eurosport, Atletico think Fabregas could have the same success David Villa had at the club -- the former Spain forward helped them win the league in his one season at the Calderon after joining from Barcelona.

Fabregas is not a regular at Chelsea and his lack of action has also seen him fall out of Julen Lopetegui's Spain squad.

Cesc, who will turn 30 on May 4, joined Chelsea from Barça in 2014 and won the league in his first season at the club under Jose Mourinho.
