Eto'o: I didn't play with Messi... he played with me!
Antalyaspor forward Samuel Eto’o was joked in an appearance on Turkish television that he “didn’t play with [Lionel] Messi, he played with me.”
The former Barça striker made the comment on the day Messi overtook him as the player to miss the most penalties at the Catalan club - the Cameroonian missed seven, while Messi, who missed one against Getafe, has now missed eight.
Eto’o, however, went on to add: “I saw him grow at Barcelona. And I can say, without any doubt, that he is better than Cristiano Ronaldo.
“He’s the best player in the world and he will be so for 10 more years.”
Asked about Arda Turan, the former Barça man said: “He is one of the best Turkish players. He’s still not adapted to Barça, but he will do.”
